Cleaning Windows

When you clean your windows, use 25% vinegar mixed with 75% warm water. Put on your rubber gloves and immerse an old cotton towel in the water. Heavily rub on the windows and then scrunch up a piece of newspaper and use to buff up the windows. If there are any streaks left use a dry cloth to finish off. But if you are like me and always busy, you could use our Handy Glass and Mirror Spray Cleaner
Freshen up the Loo!!

When cleaning the toilet bowl I always use a paper towel. I never use a toilet brush as I would never re-use a cloth which has been down the loo! It's much more hygienic to throw some scouring powder down the bowl, rub with paper towel until clean, throw the paper towel away, flush the loo and hey presto...a clean toilet. Alternatively you can always use our Green Toilet Cleaner which is also kind to the environment.

Remove Red Wine

Red wine spill on carpet?

Douse with soda water then dab with layers of paper towel. Continue until no colour shows on the paper towel and don't forget our super absorbant 3 ply Cartmel & Dalton Blue China Kitchen Towel.
Wonders of Distilled White Vinegar

I have some amazing tips for you with distilled white vinegar to use on your garden, my mother always swore by them.

Kill weeds and grass growing in unwanted places by pouring full-strength white distilled vinegar on them. This works especially well in crevices and cracks of walkways and driveways.

Give acid-loving plants like azaleas, rhododendrons, hydrangeas and gardenias a little help by watering them with a white distilled vinegar solution now and again. A cup of white distilled vinegar to a gallon of tap water is a good mixture.

Stop ants from congregating by pouring white distilled vinegar on the area.

Preserve cut flowers and liven droopy ones by adding 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and 1 teaspoon sugar to a quart of water in a vase.

Get rid of the water line in a flower vase by filling it with a solution of half water and half white distilled vinegar, or by soaking a paper towel in white distilled vinegar and stuffing it into the vase so that it is in contact with the water line.

Clean out stains and white mineral crusts in clay, glazed and plastic pots by soaking them for an hour or longer in a sink filled with a solution of half water and half white distilled vinegar.

Over the coming years, I will give you more tips as I remember them.
